Don't you deserve some quilting R&R?

Rest - no chores, no cooking, no cleaning

Relaxation - take a dip in the indoor pool, soak in the Jacuzzi in your room, take a walk and admire the splendor of the mountains in all her seasons.

Rejuvenation - learn something new in a class.

Recreation - or just do your own thing, sew until the wee hours, be with others who understand your obsession with fabric and thread. The quilting room is available 24 hours a day. Who needs sleep when there is all this fabric to play with?

Retail Therapy - your very own personal pop-up quilt shop onsite in case you forget anything. Visit the shops in the quaint Village Center or take a road trip to visit quilt shops.

Where is it?

Nestled in New Hampshire's White Mountains is the Snowy Owl Inn. Right next door is the Village Center of Waterville Valley, a quintessential New England town square with shops and restaurants. The Inn has an indoor octagonal heated pool and most rooms have your very own Jacuzzi tub for relaxing. All rooms feature TV, data ports, refrigerator and wi-fi throughout the Inn.

When is it?

October 5-8, 2018 - Friday to Monday - Columbus Day Weekend

There are only a few spots left - call or email us to snag one!

Penni Domikis (black shirt photo) Penni is the Queen of Scraps! Bring your unruly collection of scraps and Penni will show you how to tame it using her All Scrapped Out! method. You will be creating a wall hanging "Seasonal Landscape" with your choice of seasons (fall is shown). You will create the background from your scraps and the tree will be provided. You will learn how to mix your scraps by tone, how to audition color and how to jump into sewing your scraps without pre-cutting or pre-pressing. Penni will inspire you to use up your leftovers and take advantage of all the "free" quilts you can create. Each student will be provided with a silhouette package for their desired season.  You can learn more about Penni on her website, Cabin In The Woods Quilters.

Sandi Blackwell (blue shirt photo) Sandi has created a technique to make on-point quilts without all those fussy setting and corner triangles...no math is required! You will create the wall hanging "Colors Of Fall" while learning this technique. Simply sew a simple straight row setting, learn how to wave the magic wand and...presto...on-point quilt! It's magic. You can learn more about Sandi on her website, Stitched Buy.

Cancellation Policy

Purple Moose Designs reserves the right to cancel three weeks prior if there are not a minimum of 15 quilters registered. Full refunds would be issued. Have more questions?

Your retreats fill up so fast. How can I get in?

For many of our instructors, we have to secure them 2-3 years in advance. Once we have an instructor we start taking names for the pre-registration list. It costs nothing to be on that list, just add your name and email. Once prices and class info are determined then that list gets the first crack at securing a spot in the class. If there are spaces left then it goes to our newsletter folks. Finally, it is offered to the general public.

I've paid my deposit money, now what?

Once you have been registered you will be invited to join our private online chat group. This makes it really easy for me to update you quickly and give you any needed information such as supply list, games, block swaps, etc. You can also get to know some of your other classmates.

I would like to go but don't want to pay for a single room and have no one to share a room with. Can I still go?

If you would like to have a roomie but don't have a friend that can join you, we will do our best to hook you up with someone else in the same situation.

Do I have to lug my machine on the airplane?

If you are flying in and would prefer to not bring your machine (or you're driving and just want to try a new one!) no worries. Machines are available for rent from Bittersweet Fabric Shop for a nominal fee. We make the arrangements for you.

Will there be time to work on my own projects?

We do have a guest teacher but the class is only one day. The rest of the time is free-sew to work on whatever you want. If you prefer to not do the class, that's just fine. More teacher time for the rest of us!

So many of your retreats sound fun, how do I choose which to attend?

Well...I say don't choose, attend them all! If you attend any two or more of our retreats in any calendar year then you get $75 off each one. Is that cool or what?
