It’s day 4 of the Batiks Go Retro blog hop where we get to show off the Batiks Go Retro line of fabric created by Tammy Silvers fabric designer for Island Batik and owner of Tamarinis.
When Tammy asked me to make something with her new fabric line, Batiks Go Retro…I said “ehh, maybe – if it fits into my schedule” (I’m such a great friend…) Then she showed me sneak-peak photos of the fabric and I saw this one…
I just had to have me some of that! I mean, just look at it. It has little 50’s style tv’s…and it’s PURPLE!!! The rest of the line was equally exciting. Well, almost…those purple tv’s are pretty darn awesome. Here are a few of the other fabrics in the line.
The whole line has a 50’s vibe to it in purple, blue, orange and teal. So now I have this little pile of cute fabrics. I know I have to make a bag of some sort and I have a tight deadline. Tammy wanted to use the samples in her booth at Quilt Market to show off her fabrics to the quilt shops. What to do…what to do…
Tote-ally Simple is born!
I made a fully padded bag to hold all the electronics we tote around with us. A zippered pocket on the back with a cute lace zipper, two pockets on the inside, magnetic closures and long straps for lugging. The front also has a full width pocket with a funky glass button as part of the closure.
Tote-ally cute, right?? I loved this project. I love this fabric line. You can check out the entire line of Batiks Go Retro on Island Batiks website or ask for it in your local shop. Then you can own your very own purple tv’s! They also have other colors of tv’s but I stopped looking… You can find the pattern for Tote-ally Simple on my website if you wish to make your own.
There are prizes to be had as well. I hear there are fabrics, patterns, thread…there is some great talent here so I know we’ll all come up with some great stuff for the prize box! You can enter at each stop of the blog hop for your chance at prizes. Just click here to enter over at Rafflecopter.
