The Quilter's Reference Tool

There is an incredible amount of information packed into this little book. It's like a spiral bound quilting 101 course. All kinds of handy reference charts and tips. Want to know how big a California King bed is? How about if you add a 16" drop? It's in there. Want to know how many cornerstones you need for your quilt? How about if you set it on-point, how many then? It's in there. Speaking of on-point, what size triangles will you need to cut for the outer edges? It's in there. Yardage for quilt backing, how many strips to cut for binding, thread recommendations for different fabrics, needle charts, thread tension, Y seams, and so much more.... Written by Harriet Hargrave, Sharyn Craig, Alex Anderson and Liz Aneloski.

Spool Pin Doily

Almost every machine comes with a felt pad. While quite serviceable, they are not exactly pretty (and sometimes aren't wide enough for the fat spools.) Now you can gussy up your machine with a spool pin doily. On older machines a doily (or pad) is especially important to keep the spool of thread from scratching the finish. Works on any machine with a spool pin, regardless of age.

They come in white, cream, red, pink or green. Each doily is approximately 2" across. They are individually hand-made by a southern belle, right here in the USA!

Water Soluble Stablizer

Super Solvy by Sulky, medium weight, 12" X 9yds.

Perfect for our Chocolate Truffle Scarf pattern. This package will make four 6' scarves with one yard leftover.

Of course, you can use it for many other things as well! Twice as thick, heavy and strong as the Original Sulky Solvy. Use as a design template, as a pattern guide or for stitch support. Ideal when you don't want any stabilizer to show on top or bottom.

Water Soluble Stabilizer - suggested retail $23.00  OUR PRICE $17.65

Seam Ripper & Stiletto

The best seam ripper I've found.  It has a very fine point and a sharp cutter. Polished brass with a split ring on the end to hang on a necklace. The cover may be placed on the other end to extend the handle while using. Yes, it's pricier than it's plastic cousins but it's worth every penny - especially when it gets as much practice as mine does!

Seam ripper - suggested retail $17.99  OUR PRICE $15.29

This stiletto is made by the same manufacturer as the seam ripper above. The point is thin, fine and sharp. Perfect to act as your extra finger to get into those hard to reach places. Helps with guiding fabric under the presser foot too. Better than sticking your fingers in there!

Stiletto - suggested retail $16.99  OUR PRICE $14.39

Magnetic Wand

A very nifty tool. It's a smidge bigger than a pen but telescopes out to about two feet long. The end has a small but very strong magnet, it can retrieve objects up to 8 pounds! It is perfect for finding lost pins and needles on the floor (without bloodshed!) or finding dropped screws. It comes with a pocket clip, cover for the magnet end and a cushion grip handle. The magnet is small enough to fit under furniture to find (and pull in) items that have gotten away.

Magnetic Wand - suggested retail price $3.99 - OUR PRICE $3.39

Other uses for the wand: pulling canning lids out of boiling water, finding studs in the wall (at the nails - don't worry, it won't pull them out!), in your hubby's shop, in the garage....

Needle Inserter/Lint Brush

For both new and vintage machines. A standard lint brush with a hole in the end to help hold your machine needle for you while inserting them into your machine. Especially handy for vintage needles that don't have a flat side. You can get the needle lined-up correctly before inserting the needle into the machine.
